I Love Home quiltalong is underway!

It’s a great day! Jacquelynne Steve’s I Love Home event has begun!

Hopefully you’ve signed up to have the blocks delivered right to your inbox. If not, go do that.

Block 1 is super easy so you’ll have no trouble getting started on this fun project. You can find it here.

I picked these fabrics to use in block 1–a mix of Alison Glass prints & my own Dandy Days fabric.

The pattern includes fun applique elements. Since I’m crunching for time with some deadlines looming, I decided to use a fun print as my focal piece in the block centers. (Added bonus: it set the color story for the quilt so I just had to look for coordinating prints.)

A few cuts, seams & presses later, I had a finished block!

Of course, it wouldn’t be a quilt-along without cool prizes. This month’s sponsor is Aurifil. I love all things Aurifil so I’m glad one of you will be able to win some Aurifil thread to use yourself.

One lucky reader will win a small box of Aurifil thread, (Aurifil’s choice) and it can be shipped in the US or internationally!

To enter, click here and you’ll be taken to the giveaway fun–lots of ways to enter, including commenting on this post and telling me what color combo or fabric line you’re using in your #ILoveHomeQuilt! The Tula Pink Butterfly Quilt-along

Every month, it seems a new quilt-along pops up that I really want to participate in.

And every month, it seems like I’m just too busy. So much sewing on a deadline or secret sewing or planning ahead.

I follow GnomeAngel aka Angie on social media and saw she was hosting a QAL for Tula’s Butterfly quilt which has been on my to-do list forever.

Then, I saw this:

Pink Door Fabrics has put together several unique & inspiring kits for this QAL. And every one of them is amazing but this one, in particular, really spoke to me.

So, I’m in. Add another UFO to the list.

Last night I played with fabrics. Because I’m always gonna be a “more is more” girl, because I’m always going to think “why use 1 fabric when I can use 100”, I spent most of my time digging out all the wonderful variations of aqua and jade that I could find to mix in.

Tonight, I’ll be digging through my closet, organized piles, stash chaos to look for dark blues and navies.

Then, hopefully I’ll start sewing here and there.

Don’t you need another UFO too? There’s lots of cool prizes for participating and this just looks plain fun!
